Barbara works with horses of all breeds and disciplines to help them return to their natural balanced movement. Her bodywork supports each horse’s spirit and well being, while engaging their inherent ability to communicate, collaborate, heal, and thrive. Healing happens with respect and love held with quiet, grounded presence. Her work is informed by an understanding of biomechanics, anatomy, and how trauma acts in the body.
She also teaches hands-on bodywork clinics to enrich horse owners’ connections with their own horses and empower them as caretakers. As a teacher, she shares her enthusiasm for how horse bodies work, and how we can help them to work better.
Barbara practices equine bodywork specifically aimed at releasing restrictions in fascia and the resulting compensations in movement. Working with the wisdom of each horse’s body, her sessions are grounded in structural integration (sometimes called myofascial release), and also include Tui-Na and Reiki. This powerful combination helps horses move, respond and perform better.
Clients say, “Since you worked on my horse, he is . . . more forward, moves off my leg better, more fluid, less stiff, jumping higher, goes straighter, happier on the trails, lengthened stride, coming over the back better, looks younger, no longer tripping, more patient with people, more confident, more balanced at the canter.”
