Do you need equine legal services? If you have a concern involving a horse, talk to someone who owns horses, understands horses, and knows the industry. For nearly 25 years I have owned horses, trained, and competed myself. Today I am growing a practice in Equine and Animal Law to give back to an industry I love.  I hope to help horses, people, and equine facilities in my local equine communities through long-term relationships and compassion.

Some of my services include contracts, contract disputes, possession/ownership disputes, liens, tort and premise liability, or breeding and sire disputes. Perhaps you host clinics or horse shows, or operate a boarding and/or training facility.  Evergreen also offers small business formation and consultation.  If it involves a horse, let’s chat!  Did I mention all of our consultations are FREE?

Serving all of Washington, with an emphasis in Pierce, King, and Thurston Counties.

A discount is offered to 4-H members!

I would love to set up a FREE consultation to discuss how I can help you with your Equine legal needs!

Education and/or Accreditation

Born and raised in Covington, Washington, I earned my B.A. from the University of Washington and my J.D. from South Texas College of Law in the heart of Houston, TX.

During law school I was active with advocacy, including mock trial, moot court, mediation and arbitration. I also served as Vice Chair for the prestigious Board of Advocates, a student organization responsible for the No. 1 Advocacy program in the country.

I am admitted to practice in Washington, as well as Western and Eastern District courts (which includes both Federal Bankruptcy and Appellate Courts). I am also an executive board member for the Washington State Bar Association ("WSBA") Animal Law Section.

In addition to Equine law, I also have experience with Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, for both creditors and debtors, and adversary proceedings. My experience is not limited to bankruptcy. I also have experience in real estate, property issues, foreclosure and foreclosure avoidance (including "Foreclosure Fairness Act" meditations), post-foreclosure, title curative, collections, HOA/COA, and litigation of the same.

This diverse experience allows me to better assist my clients with a variety of related concerns, which is necessary to fully service my diverse equine clients. Evergreen Law Office, PC (hereinafter "Evergreen) is also part of a small and collaborative office where you pay for one attorney but get several minds. You will receive #intentionallydifferent legal representation that is effective, efficient, and at a fair cost to you.

Special Interests

Naturally horses are my biggest passion and have defined me as a person. My passion for horses was evident, perhaps before I could even walk. It all truly started at the age of 8 with a kind but spunky, incredibly stubborn, blue-eyed Welsh/POA pony with a flaxen mane. She taught me so much and I miss her everyday.

Today I have 2 quarter horses. A 12-year-old mare who I trail ride with a lot and did some performance showing with as well. I also have a 2-year-old gelding, who is my project reining horse.

I participated in the King County 4-H program for 11 years, held numerous officer positions, taught riding lessons, and schooled horses for people for about 10 years until some time during college. In 4-H I had many accomplishments including multiple supreme medal awards in nearly every discipline. I also qualified for the King County State team 6 consecutive years and accomplished multiple Championships, Reserve Championships, and other top placements at the County, State Western Washington, and State Finals levels.

In addition to my 4-H years, I have also shown open performance shows and AQHA shows. I did hunter jumping shows for about 10 years and consistently did well against the talented hunters on my little 15hh quarter horse. I have also done dressage, and I believe dressage training is an excellent foundation for any discipline. I am now embarking onto a new discipline, reining.

Training has always been my passion. Feeling progress due to your own hard work and dedication is the most rewarding accomplishment. I believe horse and rider are a team and results are not earned overnight. Every horse teaches us something if we listen. However, despite my competitive and driven nature, there is nothing I find more relaxing than a trail ride on a nice day.

Just being in a horse's presence is good for the soul. I believe horses are amazing, kind-natured animals with incredible intelligence and athleticism. They are members of my family. When I have a bad day, nothing makes me feel better than heading to the barn and seeing my best friends. I will approach your case with this same passion and believe all of these experiences have made me who I am today.
