Education and/or Accreditation

Born and raised in Covington, Washington, I earned my B.A. from the University of Washington and my J.D. from South Texas College of Law in the heart of Houston, TX. I have been licensed to practice law in the State of Washington for approximately 6 years, and I am admitted to practice in the Western and Eastern District courts (i.e. Federal Bankruptcy and Appellate Courts). I am also an executive board member of the Washington State Bar Association ("WSBA") Animal Law Section.

Prior to starting my own practice in March 2018 to focus on providing equine-related legal services, I gained general practice experience in many areas of the law, including both litigation and transactional matters. In addition to Equine and Animal Law, my other main practice area is Bankruptcy Law (Chapter 7's), which I enjoy because I have the opportunity to help people who need a fresh start.

This diverse experience allows me to better assist my clients with a variety of related concerns, which is necessary to fully service my diverse equine client needs. You will receive legal representation that is effective, efficient, and at a fair cost to you!

Special Interests

Naturally, horses are my biggest passion and have defined me as a person. My passion for horses was evident, perhaps before I could even walk. It all truly started at the age of 8 with a kind but spunky, incredibly stubborn, blue-eyed Welsh/POA pony with a flaxen mane. She taught me so much and I miss her every day.

Today I have 2 quarter horses. A 13-year-old mare who I have owned since she was 10 months old. We mainly trail ride since I was focusing on developing my career during her prime years, but we have done some western and english performance shows. I also have a 4-year-old gelding, who is my reining horse show horse. We compete at NRHA shows. They are both members of our family. My husband and I also have 2 cats and a rottweiler.

I participated in the King County 4-H program for 11 years, held numerous officer positions, taught riding lessons, and schooled horses for people for about 10 years until some time during college. In 4-H I had many accomplishments including multiple supreme medal awards in nearly every discipline. I also qualified for the King County State team 6 consecutive years and accomplished multiple Championships, Reserve Championships, and other top placements at the County, State Western Washington, and State Finals levels.

In addition to my 4-H years, I have done open performance and AQHA competitions, as well as lower level dressage, and currently NRHA competitions (reining). For approximately 10 years I did hunter jumping shows. I am passionate about maintaining an active role during the horse training process because feeling progress due to your own hard work and dedication is the most rewarding accomplishment or all.

Still, nothing beats a relaxing trail ride! I try to hit the trails or go camping as often as I can. Horses are amazing, kind-natured animals with incredible intelligence and athleticism. Just being in a horse's presence is good for the soul. Every horse teaches us something if we listen.

I will approach your equine legal matter with this same passion to provide elevated legal services to you.
